We will be using the AeroVee power plant in our Escapade.  It is distributed by Aero Conversions, Inc. and is used primarily in the Sonex line of aircraft.  The picture above is what the engine looked like when we picked it up.

The first step is to assemble the crankshaft.  The prop hub and a couple of other pieces must be heated in an oven to 400º so that they fit on the shaft.

After the connecting rods have been connected, the camshaft and driveshaft are aligned in one half of the case.

Here, studs have been installed on each side of the case and the halves are coming together.
