1949 Engineering & Research Corporation
Club-Air 415-G
Although others could be requested for an extra fee, this blue & yellow paint scheme, known as the bluebird, was the paint job used in all the ads back in 1949. Before being repainted during restoration in the fall of 2000, this coupe still showed off the original paint it had when it left the factory in '49. Everything on the plane is either original or very close.

This advertisement appeared in magazines promoting ERCO's 1949 Ercoupes.
If someone wrote in to the address at the bottom of this advertisement, they received this brochure.
In 1949, ERCO produced two models of the Ercoupe, the standard and the Club-Air. The Club-Air was the deluxe version and contained many firsts for it's day. Here are some of the features that an ad boasted for the plane:
NEW! Junior Seat Carpeted Baggage Compartment
Cabin Air Conditioning 85 h.p. Engine
The new child seat was incorporated into the baggage area, directly behind the seat, where the child sat on the padded battery box. With this new feature, ERCO billed this plane as the way to take the family on a business or pleasure trip because three fly for the price of one.

Special thanks to Dave Abrams of www.ercoupe.com for the brochure scans!
