Trimming the Firewall

Now it is time to trim the firewall and rivet it in place.  After the firewall is in place, the engine mounts can be bolted in.

Drilling holes for wiring

Before the AeroVee is hung, we drilled out the holes for the coils, engine wires and anything else that has to go through the firewall.

Firewall & Engine Mount

The engine mount is bolted in place on the firewall.  The four holes near the center of the firewall are for the coils for the engine.  The battery cables are also visible hanging from the bottom of the firewall.  The hole just above the battery cables is where the fuel line will go through the firewall.

Coils and Voltage Regulator

The green coils are anchored to the firewall.  The voltage regulator is directly below those coils.  The black tubing hanging from the upper part of the firewall is where all the wiring will go through.  Running the electrical wiring into the tubing will reduce the number of holes in the firewall.
