The fabric on the wings was in good shape and the paint was good. The only problem now was the wing AD that had come out since the last time N94888 was airworthy.
The AD required that 16 holes be cut in the bottom of each wing for inspection plates. Apparently, there were some problems with corrosion in other coupes. Ercoupe owners began calling this the "Swiss Cheese AD."
Lyle and Shawn talking about the AD before the cutting began.
Fortunately, our wings were clean and we didn't have to tear them apart.
Don, Lyle and Don J trace the inspection rings so they can be glued on before cutting the holes.
