For Your Flying Safety: In-Flight Weather Information

Presented By

On December 30, 2006 the RCAF hosted a safety seminar in accordance with the FAA Safety Team.  The presenters were Katie Bosman, CFI & adjunct Professor of Aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University, and Dr. Sherwood "Woody" Williams, DPE at CAVU Flight School.  It was a homecoming for Katie as RCA was the site of her first solo a few years ago.

About 25 people attended the seminar as Katie explained aviation weather, filing flight plans, using flight watch and other things involved with VFR flight around Northeast Wisconsin.  Dr Williams then went on to describe TFR's and how to avoid the dreaded "incursion."

The Rio Creek Aviation Foundation was formed in 2004 with the purpose of fostering a love of flying for young and old alike in Northeast Wisconsin. Based at the Rio Creek International Airport, the heart of aviation in Kewaunee County, the foundation promotes aviation through educational programs, fly-ins, Young Eagles days and other aviation-oriented activities.
